Today, lithium-ion batteries are the best option on the market to achieve energy efficiency and increase energy storage in industries.
The technology of these batteries is a safe solution to achieve maximum performance, as one lithium-ion battery has enough capacity to replace three or four batteries of other types in one operation.
Lithium-ion batteries are devices designed to store electrical energy whose electrolyte is a lithium salt that provides the ions necessary for the electrochemical reaction of the cathode and anode.
The components of lithium-ion batteries are lightweight and have a high energy capacity and discharge resistance, and as a result, the energy storage industry has been able to design ever lighter and smaller energy storage devices that can be easily adapted to the needs of the most energy-intensive industry.
Among their many applications, the high energy capacity of these batteries, their fast charging speed and long service life have made them one of the best choices for energy storage.
Quartux has more than 30,000 hours of operation in the energy storage market in Mexico, and we have been able to guarantee energy efficiency through energy storage in companies, industries and electricity generators throughout the country. Thanks to this energy-saving capacity, we also help industries and companies save up to 40% less on their electricity bills.
Industrial lithium-ion batteries offer great advantages and at Quartux we use them to design energy storage systems tailored to the needs of each of our customers, since we select the battery that best fits their consumption profile. And through our proprietary operation software we operate them to maximize the benefits.
We know that the use of lithium-ion batteries is key to ensure that an energy storage system has the highest capacity and adaptability to operate optimally and that is why we use the different types of lithium-ion batteries that are available in the market (depending on the needs of each customer), such as:
-Lithium-cobalt batteries: these batteries have a higher energy density and their specific energy is high.
-Lithium-nickel-cobalt aluminum oxide batteries: are among the most widely used lithium batteries for storing electrical energy.
-Lithium titanate batteries: its recharge time is very fast thanks to its advanced nanotechnology.
-Lithium-manganese oxide batteries: achieve high stability at high temperatures.
The charging of these batteries is done by supplying them from an external energy source such as the mains, whose electrons enter the anode causing the lithium ions to leave the cathode and return through the electrolyte to the anode, which they do much faster than other batteries for charging and discharging.
These batteries weigh much less and have a smaller volume than other types of batteries such as nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH), nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) or lead-acid batteries.
As the most electronegative chemical element, lithium has a higher oxidation capacity and therefore a higher voltage than other batteries.
Due to their high energy density, industrial lithium ion batteries are capable of accumulating more energy charge per unit weight and volume, in addition to having a longer service life than other batteries. They can work with higher voltages and their charging time is shorter.
Lithium batteries have lower degradations than other types of technologies. In addition, the operation of the Quartux control software reduces the degradation of lithium-ion batteries by up to 20%.
